Planning and Development Department is managed by the City Engineer and is located in City Hall at 103 S. Sterling Ave. The Department administers the subdivision regulations, zoning regulations, growth management plan, and directs the development and plan review process.  Additionally, the Building Official completes the structural code compliance and building inspection functions of the City.  The department maintains the City’s geographic information system (GIS) system. The department has two (2) full time employees, including the City Engineer and the Building Official. Occupancy Inspections are performed by Fire Department personnel.

The Department serves as the primary support staff for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment.  Departmental functions are organized through two divisions, Economic Development, Planning/Building and Occupancy Inspections, as well as administration and customer service.
