WILD RUKUS
Creating a disturbance around Independence.

Russell Niccum refuses to let rock&lsquon&rsquoblues die. He&rsquos been strumming since grade school, and he started Rukus more than 18 years ago. Band mates have come and gone... casualties of full-time jobs, marriages and kids. Still, the Independence, Mo.-based band rocks on with direction from its founding member. Covers often take the place of Niccum&rsquos originals when they play around the Kansas City area because, let&rsquos face it, that&rsquos what the clubs want. The band has an array of tunes under its belt, meaning Rukus never needs to play the same set list twice. A couple of fan favorites include Europa by Santana Hush by Deep Purple. Expect contemporary covers like John Hiatt, Feels Like Rain too. Other influences like Jimi Hendrix mixed with many Lengendary God Fathers of the Blues are included in their many songs. Russ knowledege of music continues to grow!
