Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers
The Regional HHW Collection Program provides convenient access to proper HHW disposal for all district residents. The MARC Solid Waste Management District encompasses Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri. Residents of participating communities may take HHW products to the permanent collection facilities in Kansas City, Mo., at no charge. Proof of residency is required. Residents of participating communities may also drop off HHW products at any of the mobile collections held throughout the year. A schedule of the 2010 HHW events can be seen at http://www.marc.org/swmd/pdf/hhw_brochure.pdf . The facilities accept: automotive fluids, batteries, fuels, household cleaners, lawn and garden products, pesticides, paint and related products. The facilities do not accept: explosives, yard waste, medical waste, commercial waste, pressurized gas cylinders, asbestos, tires, and appliances. |
